I received an email from a guy I used to call on who has since closed his shop. He has asked me to assist.

Anyone need any of these items?

1: 2000 Ford Ranger, 114K miles –
2: 2007 Ingersoll-Rand Compressor: IR N20H-TAS
3: 2008 Aqua Pro Water Recycling system (Squid/Mako) –
4: Router – Master 3500; 100 hours
5: Caterpillar Forklift w/Sideshifter, boom and slab lifter

I will donate half of anything I make to the SFA.

Is that donation just on the items listed above or for the rest of your life? :D

What is the horsepower of the compressor? I am going to guess 20 by the model number but I have no basis for that guess. Any chance it is a variable speed unit?

How about the size and combustion type of the forklift?

VSD is IR's designation for the variable speed control. The TAS is some additional feature from Ingersoll Rand

Steven,

The Master 3500 (marmoelettromeccanica) was bought by this customer in NOV 2007. He documented that he paid 7500 for it. In my opinion a reasonable price would be 3500.

I believe a reasonable offer would be accepted. The shop is closed.

According to the customer it has less than 100 man hours on it.

Matt,

I wasn't drinking nearly enough to make that sort of deal.

According to the specs I found for this compressor from the mfg it is 20HP. I have the detailed specifications for this model if anyone needs it on a .pdf

It is a variable speed unit...see here for details...NIRVANA TAS http://www.compresseurpistonetvis.com/i ... ochure.pdf

The Forklift is a Caterpillar GC25, it is LP gas. : 5,000 LB. @ 24” Load Center

Paul,

The compressor was retailed in 2008 for $14,000. I think this is the mercedes of the IR line.

I would imagine it is still worth 9-10K, but reasoned offers are likely to be entertained.

The Aquapro treatment system was approx 35k new in around the same time. I don't know where to begin to value this.
I'm not familiar with this particular system. The guy in questions speeks well of it. I have complete specifications on everything and pictures

Ger, how many horses on the compressor, the IR website says 20-40 for that model.

Cam,

It's a little confusing because the spec I have says the same thing.

The compressor is a 20HP compressor. Apparently this particular model can deliver up to 40HP on demand, which is a feature of this particular model. I do not know the time duty for this feature.

If anyone were interested I'd recommend speaking with a compressor rep about this, as I'm not very up on the finer points.

I have now an (out of the SFA) offer for some of these items, so please move quickly if you are interested

According to the brochure the compressor is a 20hp unit. If it was anything else it would be a IRN25H-TAS for a 25 hp and so on. The same cabinet and air tank can be used for any unit 20 hp to 40 hp the air end and electric motor are different.

The information I gave regarding the on demand feature came from the customer. So if I am wrong excuse me.

It's funny how people don't even know what they have  . Maybe that's why they closed their shop.

Guys,

I think I may have the forklift, router, and compressor sold (outside the sfa)

The guy indicated he would go deep on the water treatment system. I think he paid like 30k for it and he'd accept less than half price.

Let me know.

I love how what someone paid for something, somehow has something to do with what it is worth. Its only worth what someone is willing to pay. If you paid a little less then half, you still have to break it down, ship it, install it, then be trained, problem solve, and you may not have the manufacture on your side because you are not their "customer"
doesn't sound like a bargain to me.

how's this sound

FOR SALE:
3 target wetsaws
2 felker wetsaws
2 Mk wetsaws

1 paid over 7,100 hundred, but i would go as low as 3,500.00
(minor work needed ;) )

various other makes and models (if interested)

Anthony,

From the standpoint of used equipment you are correct, it is only worth what someone will pay, but the other side of the equation is what someone would let it go for considering the investment they made. If you were wanting to sell an item you paid for should you give it to whomever makes an offer regardless of what you paid for it?

I gave the information as to original cost as a basis, but that is not the only factor of value. No one is getting beaten over the head to buy it, but in this case, I'm making something, and so would the SFA. So considering that perhaps can you tell me what you think it's worth, or should I find comparables, and do the research as I have?

The final price is not my decision to make, and anyone who needs a system is free to make an offer. That's the beauty of a free market society. (I think it is still here anyway.)

Merry Christmas to you bro, and Happy New Year!
