America Gets Screwed...Again !!

Well America, so much for the promise not to raise taxes a single penny on individuals making less than $200,000 a year, or couples making less than $250,000, middle income America, ya just got screwed…again. I hate to say I told you so, but, I told you so.

According to the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) this new “deal” cuts spending by $15 billion, but increases taxes by $620 billion, for those without a calculator, that’s $41 in new taxes for every $1 in spending cuts. Or a ratio of 41:1.

When Democrats promised both Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush spending cuts in return for increased taxes—cuts that never ultimately came—they did so at ratios of 1:3 and 1:2.

“In 1982, President Reagan was promised $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes,” Americans for Tax Reform says of those two incidents. “The tax hikes went through, but the spending cuts did not materialize. President Reagan later said that signing onto this deal was the biggest mistake of his presidency.

"In 1990, President George H.W. Bush agreed to $2 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes. The tax hikes went through, and we are still paying them today. Not a single penny of the promised spending cuts actually happened.” This is why Republican’s should NEVER negotiate with Democrats over tax increases for spending cuts, the spending cuts never happen.

So, as a result nearly 80% of American’s are going to see their taxes go up, the average American family is going to see a tax increase of between $1,700 and $2,000, and that’s BEFORE the tax increases that Obamacare is going cause.

This tax increase alone, according to the CBO, is going to ADD $3.9 trillion to the debt over 10 years – I thought this was supposed to reduce the debt? Economic experts on both sides warn this “new deal” will push the nation back into a recession if allowed to take effect in 2013., BTW, the DOW is down 250 points as of this writing.

The CBO estimate comes after the Joint Committee on Taxation estimated it would reduce federal revenue by $3.93 trillion over the next 10 years when compared to current law..WOW…increasing taxes REDUCES Federal revenue, go figure, but, thankfully, they extended unemployment for an additional 52 weeks, so now you can be on unemployment for almost 3 years !! Sounds like a GREAT way to stimulate the economy, grow jobs and get us out of this mess doesn’t it?

Oh, and now that his damage is done, our President is heading back to Hawaii to complete his vacation, at a cost of $26 million to the American taxpayer who just took it in the backside...there's a 6 letter word for what was done to America last night, but I don't think I'm allowed to post it here.

Grumpy? No, not grumpy, pissed off, tired and fed up - this country had an opportunity to choose between two very different directions for America's future, one candidate was open and honest about the problems we face and had a real plan to fix them and get us back on track, the other one lied through his teeth and made promises he had no intention of keeping.

I'm tired of being lied to by politicians and fed up with having to deal with the consequences of the low information voter who doesn’t know the difference between income tax and capital gains tax, or who doesn’t realize that when 450,000 people fall off the unemployment rolls because they have reached their 99 weeks of unemployment eligibility that they are simply no longer counted, unemployment hasn’t really gone down…I’m tired of these not knowing who they are voting for, what that persons voting record is or what they stand for, they vote for the person who promises to give them more free stuff and they never question where that free stuff comes from or who's paying for it.

This "deal" doesn't "fix" anything, they "cut" $15 billion in spending over 10 years, which really means they cut it from the projected rate of increase...that's basically pissing in the ocean when you consider our government spends almost $10 billion A DAY.

Obama's tax increase on the rich was supposed to fix everything, but only generates $32 billion in revenue, this new deal creates $620 billion in new tax increases, which means that the struggling middle class is STILL going to carry the lion's share of the increased tax burden, something Obama promised he wouldn’t do, so our President outright lied to the American people, again.

And the worst part is, the people he lied to, the people who believed his BS and actually voted for him, aren’t up in arms about being lied to (again) They are the ones who should be screaming the loudest, and yet they remain silent – where is the outrage? There won’t be any from those people, as long as the free stuff gravy train keeps rolling.

Is anyone even remotely concerned that on January 26th we are scheduled to send Egypt 16 brand new F-16’s, 160 tanks along with various missiles, ammo and small arms, along with $1.53 billion in military aid? These people are not our friends, how long do you think it will be before those weapons are used against us, or our interests in the Middle East?

People need to pull their heads out of the sand and start paying attention to what’s going on in the real world

Our only interest in the Middle East should be peace and human rights.(as it should be in the ret of the world).

Right now, our policy (how I understand it) is to pay Isreali billions of dollars annually not to fight. On top of that, we pay the otherside also. Nice policy, huh?

It does fall in line with being non committal and the standard double speak.

I am impressed they cut the 1 in the 41:1 ratio, that had to take real courage.

Tank, you forgot to mention the automatic pay raise that all federal employees get effective Jan. 1 2013, by Executive Order, no less! $900/congressman and over $6,000 for VP.

The winners of the new Fiscal cliff legislation was Hollywood, electric 2 and 3 wheel vehicle manufacturers, Asparagus farmers, Algea farmers,Caribean Rum Manufacturers and NSACAR.

They couldn't pass the $80 Billion Sandy Relief bill because it had too much Prok in it. They couldn't even pass the stripped down bare bones relief Sandy Relief bill for $27 B. Now, I am not ththe sharpest math mind mind, BUY that is $53,000,000,000 in Pork on one bill?

What ever happened to Obama's campaign promise of...
no more earmarks ($53,000,000,000) on one bill alone).
no bill passed before it sees the light of day (the Fiscal cliff bill was read, 154 pages and then voted on 3 minutes later)
No lobbyists in the White House ( The AFLCIO has ato have a room there, labor is there every day).

Burkie - I said "one candidate" because politicians are incapable of being honest !! But that's my point, Romney isn't a politician, 98% of his working life has been spent in business, and he laid his plan out just like a business man would, he identified what was causing the problem(s) and then presented solutions, solutions I might add, that would have gotten this country back on track, not put us deeper into the hole we had already dug...that's the first rule of holes, when you're in one, the first thing you do is stop digging !!

Dan - I didn't forget, I am still to nauseated to even talk about it !! Our president must have basketball sized brass ones to have done something so epically stupid !!

After Israel, Egypt is a close second for US Foreign Military Aid, which makes sense if we are keeping Mubarak in power to keep the peace and stabilize the region, but he's not in power any more, the Muslim Brotherhood is, until last summer, the Brotherhood was considered a terrorist organization, now they have taken power, passed a Sharia based constitution against the will of their people and are setting up what will essentially be a Muslim dictatorship - these people are no longer aligned with our policies, so why in the name of God are we continuing to fund and arm them?

Have we again forgotten the lessons of even our recent history? Bin Laden was a result of us training, arming and funding the Mujaheddin in the 1980's to fight the Russian's...as a rule, doing these things always comes back to bite us in the ass !!

PS some of your ongoing deficits were grandfathered in from previous periods.

Time to start dealing with the prior period decisions. This will make the biggest impact. As Dan said why pay 2 people not to fight? If they can't solve their problem after 36 years why should you foot this bill indefinitely. This is what you have to stop and not be smoke screened by the Rhetoric.

Tell that to the people of Greece, Italy, Spain & Portugal. Their worlds have not ended but I would not want to be living in those countries. Great Britian's standard of living has been declining for years as well. While these countries deal with their massive debt and entitlements we march on doing exactly what they have done to cause their own demise. Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy are in a jam, but why exactly is that? Greece and Portugal have always been relatively poor countries and when they were invited to join the European monetary union they jumped at it thinking it would be great, a ton of money were given to them by the other members so they could get up to speed.. well that didn't work out too good, they spend it on crap and when they had to start paying it back they couldn't. Spain and Italy have always been strong industrial producers and rather wealthy countries. I believe the real problem in Europe is they joined their resourses and Brussel deside how to run the business.
