Hello all,
We have a project where the architect/designer wishes to have radius aprons applied, they are approximately 6.5"H x 26"L x 34" T.The radius is approx 8 ft.
Does anyone know of someone in the US who manufactures these? Open to any suggestions.
Thanks
Tom

Re: Radius Aprons
You lost me on the measurements. Assuming "T" is supposed to be a "w" I am still a little lost. Do you want these out of block material? An 8ft radius across 26" Is probably little more than a gentle arc.

Re: Radius Aprons
Thanks Dustin, the material specified is Giallo Fantasia from MSI, goes under other names such as golden peach, and rusty yellow.dustinbraudway wrote:Manufacture? Material spec'd ?

Re: Radius Aprons
the material thickness is 2 cm, the aprons are approximately 52" long ( needing 2 pcs 26" each) and 6.5" high. I have a picture of the aprons that were made in china but I am not sure how to add it to the post as it is a big file.Nick wrote:You lost me on the measurements. Re: Radius Aprons
So you have to radius 2cm granite? How many do you need? We can do that, and there is an msi by me, but it will probably cost more than you want to hear. That is a lot of work to do right. And it will not be in 2 pieces, it will be in many pieces made to look like one and completely assembled.

Re: Radius Aprons
I would make one mock-up and smack the architect with it. I guarantee you there will be a change in spec.

Re: Radius Aprons
My guess is a hotel looking for cheap ( based on Rusty Yellow). And a designer looking for a great architectural look. Both hoping for a miracle from he fabricator at blue light special pricing.

Sounds like the kind of job that can put you out of business if your not careful..
Architects should be required to spend at least 1 of their 7-8 years of schooling in the trenches with all the trades.

Re: Radius Aprons
That project is made to be ordered from China where they cut pieces like this from solid block.
If they are out of time ordering from China then the architect/designer has to change the spec.
No other option and you aren't going to fabricate these yourselves for any price that they are willing to pay.

Re: Radius Aprons
That part can be thermo formed. Kinda messy as it requires an active volcano near by.
See ya at coverings.
