Has any one had experience fabricating Lumix Granite. I have a customer interested in that material but at the 125 per sqf cost I am wondering about fabrication red flags.

Translucent.
Not terrible, but a bit fragile.
Plan for unexpected.

If you plan for the unexpected, doesn't that make it expected?Dan R. wrote:Translucent.

Re: Lumix
We recently installed a similar translucent & mostly transparent quartzite called "Skyfall" in a pirate ship bar over light pads (wish I had completed photos to share) and had loads of trouble. Stone crumbled when picking it up off the saw, broke when adding the Ogee edge on the CNC so we had to hand router it all... Fab was a nightmare but after a lot of time and TLC it looked phenomenal. Have loads of epoxy around... Just my $0.02.

Re: Lumix
fabrication cost should be about the same as the stone cost. kind of puts things in perspective
