So I have got my Donatoni installed and for a month now they seem to be dumbfounded as to how to link my desk top to the machine and also how to use my slab smith with it. Anyone doing this with a Sasso, Gmm or Donatoni?

we use Slab Smith with our Sasso. Slab Smith operates under its own key, it also works off of your DXF file.
Import DXF file into slab smith with seam placement already done.
Arrange your pcs
save as dxf file.
In Donatoni's software pull up dxf file
assign tooling and cut.

Re: Slabsmith Programming from Office with CNC Saw??
We don't have an offline version of our GMM software setup. What we do is use VNC to link to the machine. That way we can pull up the actual screen and assist if needed. We do our drawing cleanup in CAD and have the machine on our network. We just drop the cut files into the machine directory so that the operator can pull them up when he photos the slab and drop the pieces in place. Very easy. Slabsmith - We send out the dxf file to the machine with the slab border in the file and have it set to where the border and pieces all get moved at the same time (use layers in CAD for this). We do include a printed out picture of the slabsmith layout for the operator in case he see's an issue and needs to make an adjustment in his cut order.
The operator isn't a button pusher, he does determine order of cuts and if something needs to be mitered, or do an interrupted cut or vacuum move - the operator controls that.

Sasso has a tool built into alphacam that brings the slabsmith DXF in and automatically locates on the table. Tool path and run. There should be something like that possible with your system.

Mark,
I finally figured out why we are having all the issues with our photo software and networking. Donatoni installed Windows XP as a operating system (thats right Window XP)on my brand new 2016 saw. Needless to say I am not a happy camper.

XP is a 32 bit operating system while Windows 7 and subsequent OS's are 64 bit which require different software to operate in it.
They must have bought a pile of XP when it stopped being sold as it solves their problems of not having to redesign their saw interfaces.
