Intermac Master 30 Issues

Hello gentlemen,

So our Master 30 went on the fritz last night, and I am trying to figure out the cause while Intermac takes their time replying to my messages.

One of my guys was doing a sink cutout when the entire machine went dead, and more than a few error codes popped up. I am hoping this is an easy fix, but between a few brown/black outs we had last week, and one guy dropping a polishing wheel into an uncut sink cutout last week, I doubt it will be.

YAS765 > (Yaskawa) C9: Encoder Communication Error Axis X
GMM275 > NC In Emergency
PLC9011 > EMERGENCY - Drives Timeout
PLC9025 > Drives Disabled
PLC9796 > Supply Disruption While Command Working - Inverter 1
INV290 > Undervoltage Trip [0]

We have tried it a few times, both last night and today, and every time we try with a finger bit that runs about 10amps it does this exact same thing.

Is it a transformer fried? Something internally fried?

Anyone here have any clue?

We had our Intermac Jet CT have a similar meltdown a couple of months ago. We got it up and running again by opening the NC cabinet and flipping all the circuit breaker switches off and on again.

Probably would pay to give the components in there a good blowout with some compressed air too, and pull all the little usb's out of the servos and plug them back in.

Thats my highly unscientific and uninformed diagnosis, but it worked for us.

My guess would be a break in the x axis encoder wire. When mine was doing that, I replaced the wire and it fixed it. I'll also second bens suggestion of unplugging all of the wires and reseating them. One at a time, of course

Hey guys
Problem points towards communication error for the x axis motor encoder, while the machine is powered off, disconnect the encoder cable from the motor and re-seat, reseat the UX1W10 cable in the elec cabinet (connected to the yaskawa servo drive "UX1U1" input to CN2).
See if the alarm clears, if not check the resistance of the encoder cable, there will most likely be a break somewhere .
Hopefully it's the connection at the motor-due to the alarm appearing when machining with a finger the vibration could indeed cause the connection to temporarily loose Comms.
