Production/Fabrication Manager Northern Indiana

In this Production Manager role you will lead and guide a team as well as utilize your expertise in stone fabrication to reduce costly scrap and waste.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide hands on leadership to manage a team of 10-15 people to produce a variety of outstanding products
• Make determinations on quality issues & stone repairs
• Supervise and lead team including the selection, training, development, and discipline of team
• Coordinate with GM, Sales, Customer Service, and other plant personnel in order to meet Customer Request Date and quality standards
• Ensure the cost effectiveness of the Commercial Fabrication & Stone Yard area, including system utilization, stone slab storage
• Control of labor utilization; preventing excess hours, downtime, and overtime and the efficient usage of transportation related equipment
• Provide periodic reporting and metrics to GM relating to production hours, job status/completion dates, and stone inventory
• Assure compliance with safe work practices for the team and processes/equipment used by the team
• Engage with Sales Customers when needed and appropriate to assure team is meeting customer requirements

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous Supervisory/leadership experience in a stone fabrication environment with minimum of 3 years direct experience in Leadership
• 3-5 years direct experience in fabrication with knowledge of stone, quartz, granite, etc.
• Excellent hands on knowledge of various CNC machines including routers and water jet technology
• High school diploma or higher, 4 year degree preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and email.
• Working knowledge of Safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Effective organization and planning skills.
