What. Chisel machine to buy

I'm about to purchase a chisel machine for my shop and was wondering if the pit bull is worth the extra money over the beaver. I have used beaver before but not familiar with pit bull.

I had the 3cm Beaver for almost a decade, loved it. had to some 6cm laminated Quartzite to pitch so I bought the Pit Bull. The Pit Bull is superior in all ways. Our Beaver still works as well as it did when we first bought it. I will never use it again.

The best advantage of the Pit Bull / Big Dog is that it is air over hydraulic. With any air chiseler you WILL have a "shock" to your stone when splitting. With air over hydraulic, this will NOT happen. In addition, look at the surface area of the two rubbing against the face of your material. The pit bull / bull dog is the size of a pencil eraser. All of the others, MUCH larger.

My guys like the manual clippers.
We have had a Beaver since the beginning of time.
Had to chisel an edge in a home, bought the manual clippers and my guys fell in love with them.
Depending on how much chiseled edge you do, this could be a viable option.

We love our Pitbull. We chisel quite often. We do a lot of 6cm chisel. We've also done 8cm chisel with the Pitbull without any issues. I guess it depends on how frequently you chisel and what material if it is worth extra cost. As Dan R stated; if you don't plan on doing a ton of it, get the manual ones.

The PitBull is in a class all it's own. The price difference will be made up in no time.
You will not regret it.
