I know I would get absolutely no work done in an office with that many beautiful women. That would be nothing but trouble for me.

Re: Hello from China
A project we just finished.
Material are Baltic Brown and Black Basalt and Light Gray"Salt & Pepper"
We supplied the material and our customers installed the stone. This project is located in Espoo, where the headquarter of NOKIA is located :D
This Finnish customer is very meticulous. We spent 2 months in discussing the details and finalizing the drawings. I think that is why and how they become the No.1 construction company in Finland.

I notice that GMC van is pimped out -- are full size vans very desirable in China? Do they have Cadillac Escaladaes or Lincoln Navigators in China?

That GMC is called Business Star here, for business use. Seems comfortable. Costs appr. $ 150 000.
There are also Escaladaes and Navigators here. Also many other luxurious cars, like Audi Q7,BMW 760i, Porsche, Aston Martin, RR. Crazy Rich people.....

Re: Hello from China
So if a GMC Safari is $150,000 what does a 7 series or Aston Martin set you back?
Hey Chris, forget about stone, I can get lightly used Benzes, Audi's, Beemers all day here and load them up in containers. May infringe on an import law or 2 but who really gets caught doing that anyway.
I heard that a liscense plate(registration etc.) for a vehichle in China is roughly 30,000 USD, and that one of the biggest reasons most people can't have car ownership. Any truth to that?

Re: Hello from China
Lots of used cars are smuggled into China, then refurbished, used a counterfeit plate. Sometimes someone gets caught.Nick wrote:So if a GMC Safari is $150,000 what does a 7 series or Aston Martin set you back?

The $30,000 plate is especially for the LUCKY NUMERS, like 88888, 66666, 88899. Rich people prefers the consecutive numbers, 6, 8, 9 in particular. See the pics
The common plate costs about $3000(including regi, insurance, etc). The biggest reason is that the car cost is very high, we need to pay toll for all the highways(longest in the world), the gasoline($17/gallon), the increasing parking fee....
I can also buy a car(Chevy's Cruze) if I sell more containers of stones. But I need to pay $1000 to get the driving license at first.

Re: Hello from China
So the dude in the Cayanne turbo with 5 consecutive 4's on his plate consuming $17 a gallon is the equivilant of an American that has a Venture 34. This kind of vehicular expense would not go over well in Boca
Assuming you (and most here for that matter) do not know what that is, here is an informative link. I covet this. I will have it or something very similar one day. http://www.sportfishingmag.com/article/ ... Tournament
It is the best thing that man has created that a quarter million dollars can buy (except for the mercury's, mine will have yamahas of course) This base model is also missing the tower with second station and fold down riggers that my boat will have, but it is what I found fast on the internet. No cabin, No frills, no creature comforts, no women, no children, just a pure fishing layout and Palm beach to west end by sunrise with 10 white knuckles and 30 gallons an hour less fuel.

That is a cool boat.
A client of mine in Puerto Rico owns a similar boat.
He bought it from the Miami Boat show, at a price of $ 200,000(in 2009)
Every weekend, he goes fishing the Mahi Mahi

Re: Hello from China
He sounds awesome. Fishing for Dolphin is my true love of offshore fishing
. The price of the cars and the price of gas just made me think that car ownership in China is like expensive boat ownership over here. Everyone here has luxury cars, but to have and use a boat like that you have to be a baller for real. The cheapest part is buying it, seems like the same is true for a car in China.

Everything is relative
Re: Hello from China
Busy around these Long days.
I would like to thank Jeff from MIA for all of his helps. Payment is applied and shall be transferred soon.
SUV would be a member of MIA then.
Also, we are dealing with Sep. Promotion for 3cm granite slabs. Some of you might have received the details. I do apologize if any inconvenience is caused. Will stop it.
In Oct. I will go to apply the visa to Vegas next year. Hope I'll make it.

Re: Hello from China
Chris, At one time I ran across some educational information (in English) regarding the alpha-numeric stone (granite) names in China.
The little bit I recall was that the letter designates the state/province (in China), and I can't remember if the number had other significance.
Can you re-educate me (and others here) please?
Thanks in advance!
