My name is Joseph, I would like to place an order with your company.I will need you to fabricate some kitchen counter tops for me.Well i need you to get back to me with the total quote for the following counter tops without installation because we do have our own installer but i need the total cost with tax only..

Item: Two Kitchen Tops (44 square feet)

Sizes : 1 @ 36” X 76” and 1 @ 42” X 84”
Material: Caribbean Blue RS316 Hanstone Quartz
Thickness: 3cm (approximately 1 1/4”)
Edge Treatment: Polished full bullnose All Round in Each of the Corners
Sink Cut-outs and Splashes: Not required

Need you to get back to me with the pick up price for the two kitchen counter tops plus sale tax Only without Installation..

Advice the method of Credit Card Payment you Accept.

Whats the scam part of these things? I get them pretty regularly and have never replied. Just curious on how they try to scam you.

The scam part is that they pay with a credit card that is not legit. You will ultimately never collect and be out the time, material and effort. They want to use their own shipping company have you pay the shipping company and then reimburse you with the same bogus credit card.

Ask yourself why are they calling you for this work? I will let you do the math.

Yeah, I can tell it's some kind of scam, just never took the time to figure out how they try to scam you. I've never replied to any of these. They sound pretty sketchy with the bad language and all.

I once almost got scammed in a similar way trying to sell a car I had. I had an ad posted online. An out of town buyer contacted me wanting to buy it. They arranged payment, Fed-xed me a check, the value was more than twice what we agreed on, my red flags when off at the letter head on the check was from a big cement company. With some story about being in a rush to have the car shipped he wanted me to cash the check and pay his shipper myself. No thanks, the bank would have come back to me in about 90 days for the money on that bogus check, and he'd be long gone with my money.

We also have gotten literally 100's of these. One funny thing to note, they ALWAYS are from people who have 2 first names. It is never Fred Smith or Fred Jones, it is always a name like Paul Allen, Robert George, Terry Elliot, etc. They also usually refer to themselves as Mr. ____ ____, as if any of us would identify ourselves as Mr. anything. Always credit card and always pick up. As they are not native speakers, most certainly Nigerian scammers who are big into this type of scam.

I feel kind of left out, its been a while since I've gotten one of these. A few years back we processed the payment just to see what the scam was. We even called our CC processor and mentioned that this was an unusual purchase. They put it through and gave us the money. We didn't do any work, but a few months later our processor came back to us and clawed the money back. They request you pay their shipper and they pay you double or something like that.

Its kind of weird because we have actually shipped some tops to Africa before in a not scam purchase.
