Hello Friends!
In case anyone has never seen how a granite block is loaded inside a 20' closed top container, here's how it works:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tovRAf0O3y0
It was also my first time seeing this. The entire process was less then 20 minutes! Piece of cake for these guys, but amazing for me!
We are sending this block to a customer in India.
I'll see you all in Nashville workshop! We will have a booth there.
Take care,
Fernando

What was the purpose of the man standing behind the forks? Looks like he would be cut in two if the chain broke!

Re: Video: Granite Block being loaded in a 20' container
The funny thing is that the loader-driver pushed it WAY back into the container, when 4 inches would be plenty to allow the doors to close, and make for easier extrication of the block. The weight was already sufficiently centered, by the looks of it, for in-transit container-handling.
I could HEAR the guys on the receiving-end cussing after opening the doors.
Very interesting. THANKS for posting!

the first set of scales the truck gets to and they catch driver with all the weight on the trailer axles , , well either you turn the keys to your truck over , or abandon the load , or figure out how to move a 20 ton block of stone 10 feet forward in and enclosed trailer

Re: Video: Granite Block being loaded in a 20' container
Here is one picture of the block after it was loaded. The wood pieces on the side are used to hold the block in place, avoiding it of sliding to the wall. It's amazing such a small piece holds a 25tons block. I guess I just need to hope it will hold!
