Hello to everyone. Recently completed a large commercial dining hall using 3cm Silestone (Blanco CIty & Night MIst).
Had numerous issues with this but two really stood out:
- I had a slab completely snap in half following the cut path we prescored for a cooking unit
- Thicknesses varied anywhere from 3/32" - 1/8" on this job
Any East Coast fab guys have issues with this or anyone else? Thank you in advance for the feedback

Re: 3cm Silestone fab issues
Will,
Are you the fabricator? Which company?
slabs splitting...this happens on occasion when you are cutting from the inside to the outside of the stone without going all the way. Sometimes it is internal stress in the slabs, and other times it's improper technique. On cooktops, it is best to leave a radius in the corners to minimize a stress area.
Thickness...I believe that is within tolerances on the stone.

Re: 3cm Silestone fab issues
I as well have had this happen when cutting from the inside to the outer edge, with silestone, my cutting table is abit warped so I know this did not help matters!
