Can you do 100 Push Ups?????

I can do 100 right now! but Im still out of shape in the gut region . Just strong as hell in the arms and shoulders from lifting stone no doubt

We just had this bet at my shop. Someone brought it up and I said I could, everyone doubted so I proved them wrong. Now, with that being said. I do not think I could do it everyday. I thinks some of them were accomplished by not wanting to lose the bet

back when i had a work out routine i would do 9 sets of 10 increasing the weight as i went by placing plates on my back the last set was done with no weights and would go till you could no longer go (burn out's) i just don't know now if it can happen now

Thats like 14 a day and I'll go heavy and get 16 on the last day of the week. Should only take a week. :D

Well I don't know about you Eli - but speaking for myself - it won't be happening anytime soon for me !!!

Back in the day...... When I was in the Army - we used to have to do a minimum of 45 to 50 pushups in under 2 minutes - and that was a chore for me.... but I did it for 15 years - twice a year (AFPRT)

now.....I say - Let the "Young Pups" hash this one out -
As for me - I'd be all for hoistin' a pint of Guinness Stout to Honor the winner - who EVER that may be!!!!

That would be about as much "pushin up" as I'd feel like these days..... HA!!!

I'm good for about 50 right now. In the p90x chest and back workout, I think you do about 100 of all kinds of pushups.

It's the pullups that are tough.

I don't doubt tony does 100. I heard he threw a golf club 200 yards...

I tried the other night and only got 75. I guess if I conditioned myself I could get 100 everytime. BUT I do not plan on excercising outside of work anytime soon. Maybe when things pickup and I get off the tools then I will start... but I doubt it

That's a cool program. For my TKD tests, we had to do 200 push ups, on our knuckles. Then stay in the push up position for 8 minutes. That's harder than the push ups. After that, we had to fight other black belts that didn't do any push ups. That was two years ago when I was 45. Now I'm only good for about 100.

Not at all. The average person can't do 50. Have to give a lot of credit for someone trying to better themselves. The work we do is hard enough.

Your find, 50 is an awesome goal and the ones to jump up and say " Look how many I can do! " are full of it Last year I was in the best physical shape of my life, not only with weigths but running and biking was an everday thing for me. Im not going to say how many I could of done or did. If you can do 20 you should feel good about that and make your goal more if you like, if you can do 75 that is awesome as well. All are bodys are different and how we push them is non like the other. Anyways most people dont even achieve a proper pushup. Its all about slow and steady, i like to count three at top, three in the middle and three at the bottom and repeat. haha now you just did two push ups in one!

I hardly ever do pushups so I decided to try the other night and got 40. I could have done another 40 - 50 after a 15 min break to let the muscles cool down. Probably went too fast also - maybe slower may have made a few more. Only reason I could probably do that is that I'm quite light and I quite often end up lifting or working with things pretty heavy in relation to my body weight.

I finally got back in the gym after a 1.5 year layoff.

Everything hurts. Since I wasn't installing for a few days, I did squats, Dead-lifts and stiff leg dead lifts. 5 sets of each 10x per set. It was odd, my strength was still there; but only for like 3 reps. My muscular endurance is gone. Squats are the single best exercise, period. And I hate them.

There was this guy at the gym half repping 225 that thought he was real cool. I can't wait until that is warm up weight again.
When I was forced to stop working out(by work) I was benching 365 max and squatting 315 for reps. I would never max squat or really try to kill legs because installing with jello legs is impossible.

I will test my push ups, when I can move again.

I have not done any since I last posted on this thread. I was tempted to try but I just had dinner and the thought of pushups did not sound as appealing as sitting in the chair and typing. Plus I stained a tendon in my left arm after mixing and pouring concrete last wekeend - those bags get heavy after a while. Strain is almost gone but pushups right now may bring it back on.
