waterproof labels for stone...

I am looking for labels to put on the pieces of a job when they are cut so that the saw guy can write the customers name and also if it is part 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc and I want them to be able to stay on the stone during the fabrication process so that when the install guys load up, there is no confusion and no pieces left behind. I was thinking about just using duct tape, but some stones can be damaged by duct tape, so we would need to be careful to make sure we did not use it on those stones.
does anyone have anything they are using now?

We used to use a white out pen for this. But now there is a drawing that goes with the job to install that shows all the pieces including splash, stove fillers, and any particular notes about the job. This has worked better than the names on the pieces for us.

but the blue tape would work great too. Always got that stuff laying around, we do.

Agreed! Shop drawing for the shop. Another one for install crew. We also have a checklist for both as well. This has solved these problems by about 99%

I agree to All of ur suggestion ,only suggestion i can say is i do write the info behind the stone (back of the slab) .most of theshops i went they dont care about the surface coz most of the time they uses a white grease pencil on a dark quartz stone or black pencil on the light stone.

We laser print sheets of labels for our slab/remnant inventory on these.

We write information with Sharpies. Only drawback is that the Sharpie ( not the laserprint) fades in 4-6 months in the summer sun.

We put a label on the edge and a little bit of silicone on it

we use some kind of water proof label the kind for laser printers and use black sharpie , been using them long time , they don't leave residue on the stone

Yep we also have shop drawing and a single sheet with all information and office drawing

Stucco Tape. it's like vinyl. The residue wont stick and be a problem, you can write on it with a marker, it's red, and you can peel it off easily. It wont deteriorate in the rain.

You can also customize a paper label and fasten it directly onto the slab with the tape since it is clear and waterproof. This makes it applicable to any color of stock you can think of. We are looking to market this at about $16. It comes in a lined roll that is 4" wide by 35' long. I would love to have a few of you try this out and let me know your thoughts! we can test some if you'd like. We don't get much rain, but we get 115+ here in the summer and everything likes to get brittle and difficult to remove.

Hey Tim! I will send you a few feet to try out. I welcome your feedback. Guy - I think it is UV stable, but I will have to confirm it with the manufacturer. We put it on some stock and left it out for a while and so far there is no fade at all. We are also working on a tinted version that would be more visible if needed. Send me your mailing address and I will be happy to send you a few feet also.
