A customer of ours is moving to Texas. Say good bye California to 100 jobs. They have had it with the excess taxes and regulations. Apparently it is getting hard to find property in Texas with all the Californians moving there.

This is what today's liberals bring to an economy.... poverty for everyone. Some guy on the radio, can't remember his name now that I thought was an extremist, called liberalism a disease. I now have to agree with him. Who in their right mind would self inflict the damage today's type of liberalism is doing to our economy and to our kids future bloated with debt.

Michael Savage or Mark Levin - They both say liberalism is a mental disease because it annihilates your ability to apply common sense and logic to nearly any situation, ie, lets pass MORE gun laws that criminals are going to follow either and limit the amount of bullets a law abiding gun owner is allowed to have in their gun so we can create even more victims...or, in California's case, let's raise our already incredibly high taxes so we can drive MORE people out of our state and have less people paying taxes so in a year or two we can raise taxes again...make lots of sense.

Illinois governor just gave the state of the State address. Worst debt in the nation and still increasing spending. Wants minimum wage moved to $10/hr, from the current $8.25. There may be an exodus from Illinois!

It will get worse if the libs that now have a super majority in the Cali house tear up Prop 13. That will help our real estate values here in the "no state income tax" state of Nevada.

If I could move I would be outta here in a heart beat. As you know, our businesses can't just be moved to another state with ease.

I'll bet you will see even the lefties in Silicone Valley move their software companies east.

It is easy to be a liberal business person in a conservative state.

Perhaps this movement will gain some traction...

Official Calls For 13 Counties to Secede From California

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone apparently thinks so, after proposing that the county lead a campaign for as many as 13 Southern California counties to secede from the state.

Stone said in a statement late Thursday that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties should form the new state of South California.

The creation of the new state would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, improving schools and creating a vibrant economy, he said.

“Our taxes are too high, our schools don’t educate our children well enough, unions and other special interests have more clout in the Legislature than the general public,” Stone said in his statement.

I know taxes are bad in California. But I live in a county that doesnt even have a democrat on the ticket. There hasn't been a democrat elected in twenty years. I got my business license the other day. 5346.00. On top of that, I got a letter that I need to get another business license as the owner of the building where we do business. On top of that, my property taxes on that building are 10k. So I am taxed three times for doing business in this county, and at a crazy rate in the most "conservative" county around.

And what do they do with the money? Amongst other things they have put artificial turf on all 25 or so of the high school football fields in the county in the last two years. At a cost of a half million per.

And what makes them conservative you ask? Well they fight to keep the ten commandments in the court house. They also stop and frisk all the Hispanics. They are pro life and want prayer in school. So they are "conservatives" right?

My taxes are far more than the numbers Miles posted and I live in a conservative county in a liberal state. All of that religious stuff is crazy in politics. When I say conservative, I mean fiscal conservative, a rare bird on either side of the aisle, IMO.

Really? God said a lot of other not so nice things too. You really want to take those literally as well.

Religion has no place in politics. Conservatism and Republican are not necessarily the same.

The other day Jerry Brown, the great governor of CA, said, in response to a question about businesses leaving CA, that people are flocking to California No one in the media even questions him on such a bold face lie... or was it a misstatement of fact.

Steven, I agree completely. (About Religion and Politics). I don't discount anybody's religion. But politicians hide behind that. They use social issues to get conservative or liberal votes and then they all go spend (in the words of Dan R.) like drunken sailors.

We hire these guys to run the business of our country. I don't believe we hire them to determine moral values, and the constitution that we all like to lean on actually forbids that. So let's not confuse what their job is.

And neither side is doing a good job.

Foreigners come here and invest for the same reasons as any other businessman . They look around and decide where is the best place to put my money where I can get the most profit with the least risk and the brightest future . Apparently a lot of people come to the same conclusion USA .

So who are "foreigners" exactly as per your definition. I think you are alluding to the president when you refer to the "head". At the moment there is nothing to suggest he is not an American or not born in the US. So what are you saying exactly.

As for people buying stores - heck mayeb even stone shops - again what foreigners are you referring to. I don't know too many people who simply come from overseas and buy up stuff. The immigration system simply does not allow that. There is a special visa where if you invest a certain amount of money you can come over and buy a business but it is temporary in nature and they have to show a successful business or the visa gets withdrawn and they have to return home.

If you are talking about immigrants who have become US Citizens then they are no longer considered foreign as per our laws. So in your eyes they may be foreign but in reality the system does not deem it so.

So overall I'm missing the point of this post.

Okay Sam you edited your post but not before I got a copy in my email so I will reply to your points.

So tell me why do you need to see this president's birth certificate. Could it be because he is not white? How many people wanted to see GW's birth certificate.

As far as foreigners buying stuff - I was referring to individuals. Foreign acquisitions of companies and industries happen all over the world. I fail to understand why people here get offended by that.

And finally regarding people on visas who come legally generally also leave when their status expires or move to another status which keeps them here longer or permanently. A few many "disappear" but unlike illegals who come with no record of arrival those who come legally to acquire or start a business generally continue doing things the right way.

Sam I was not trying to suggest or imply that you are racist. It's just that when people starting about the birth certificate it makes me wonder. After all you were soft of agreeing with Joshua's post about suggesting that the president is a foreigner. I would like to hear why Joshua thinks he is a foreigner and someone like Bush is American. Other than race nothing obvious springs to my mind. Maybe someone could enlighten me on what I'm missing.

I think the birth certificate issue is not good for either side. Both are available and one never took 3 years to produce a shady rendition. It is over, no matter your viewpoint. Why is it that it is always the all accepting left is the only one who brings up race is politically charged debates? Always accusation to sensationalize. To arbitrarily bring up race is a passive aggressive way to insinuate the other is a racist, imo. I am prejudiced in many ways, is race any more a moral crime than the others? Or is it just more popular because of the 3 biggest racists (Jackson, Sharp and Farrahekan)? Notice all three of them are reverends, spewing hate from the pulpit? Hopefully, their hell will be in a room listening to each other and Kowboy!

The fact remains that states with left fiscal policies are losing citizens, period. Why is this? Too much expense for not enough revenue....overspending.

In Illinois, the most broke state, corrupt, and losing citizens faster than any other state, is unencumbered by their predicament. They continue to spend even more than they have, while secretly rebating payroll taxes to large companies. All the while the Democrats decry the government subsidies for big business by the Republicans.

It is my belief that there are no old school fiscally conservative politicians left. That appears where the Tea party is picking up support, around here, at least.

Like I said, I am prejudice in many ways. Race is not one of those ways. Most of my prejudices involve stupid people, selfish people, people who take no responsibility for their well being, etc. Basically, a Darwinist, I believe in the survival of the fittest and charity & protection for the innocent, who are unable to fend for themselves. I just believe that group is much smaller than every politician thinks.
