I haven't posted anything on here in a bit, finally working again and the new job keeps me away from home way too much. It's hard to believe, but Ty has been gone for more than a year, this past February 14th was the anniversary of his passing, and, as he requested, we had a party.
He has been desperately missed, but as he told me many times, people die and the living move on with living, it's the nature of things, but I wanted to check and see how many of you have stuck with quitting smoking? I use to smoke, but I quit the day Ty told me he was sick back in February of 2011, I hope you are sticking with it, I know what we all went through watching him fight cancer, believe me when I say you don't want to put your family through it.

Re: Checking up On you quitters
Good for you Tank! Yes, it is hard to believe it has been a year already. I never smoked, (my dad did, and quit many years ago, so I am familiar with how difficult it is to quit). But, because of Tynan's experience and talks I had with him about the whole thing, I have encouraged many to quit. It is strange, but he gave be the boldness to tell people I know that smoke these words... "this is not to be rude in any way, but because I care, let me tell you about my buddy Tynan..." and then I just keep it short and sweet.

I quit, in large part BECAUSE of Tynan. I see his name engraved in granite every single day, so I am constantly reminded.
That said, it's still a BITCH.

Re: Checking up On you quitters
Very well said. I have never ever smoked but my very active mom did until the day she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She was only 54 years old and I went through her fight with cancer every day with her. One of the biggest problem is that when she realized she was sick it was in stage 4 and there was no way to stop and change or go back. She made it almost a year and still every day I cannot stress to people enough about what it does to your family!Tank wrote:I haven't posted anything on here in a bit, finally working again and the new job keeps me away from home way too much. So please don't wait to stop smoking- I wish my mom would have so she would be here today.
