Nope, it's good to leave it up so people can see how the discussion went. They then can make up their own mind on the product and company.Darryl Miller wrote:I vote to delete the whole thing at this point.

OTLVISE wrote:when you insult my product you insult me. Why? you're showing your product, not trying to get to know people. You put yourself out there for criticism when you came in here claiming you had the best thing since sliced bread My product is NOT a copy cat and that's what one of the members said it was accused of being. I said it was Patented. I should be apologized to and on many points including forum decorum. You're not on your forum. you're not entitle to anything. In fact, you have been treated pretty reasonably compared to the other people that have come in here with the same demeanor as you. Its not up to me to decide Patent infringement that you bring up and that's not my INTENTION so don't try to insinuate that. FYI my goal is to sell my patents as they are great ideas This is not for you to decide. Everyone thinks their own creations are great. It is for your target audience to decide and will takeover because Apparently they won't, especially with your attitude at the wheel its NOT who invents things that makes an invention, its as you said... How well will it work and does it make sense, cents...
You guys have beat me down one after one, the more the merrier and ALL the while WITHOUT EVER even seeing the product. The pictures you have shoved down our throats have not been promising and you consistently ignore the advice given by the same guys that would be using these every day You think that feels good? I guess so...... You judge my product, you judge me in the same way as my product. Maybe you should put the shoe on the other foot and have someone else read the thread. What do you think we are doing? Do you know how many game changing inventions have come to life on this forum, from these members? Its the constant assault that makes me disappointed. But its obvious I CAN"T say anything right. ITS YOUR FORUM! It's not an assault. It's solid advice. If your skin is too thin to handle it, you're in the wrong spot
To Omni I have already said they have a nice product. Larry and I talked about some questions I had as he indicated in this thread. He stated that in the thread, so after saying that why would anyone keep suggesting to look at the OMNI site? I in fact like their company and the manner in which they have dealt with me earlier but more specifically here. You are correct and I appreciate their professionalism. I KNOW they could do allot with my ideas. It's pretty hard to get on board with Omni, they have a pretty high standard . They're products are top of the line, versatile and just all around well made. That is why everyone keeps suggesting to look at their site, to get an idea of what you are up against. To suggest that it might be the other way around, when mentioning they are the one you have to compete with, is completely asinine. You have repeatedly ignored the advice and information given to you. You continue to post pictures, then complain about the criticism. Why are Omni's carts made of boxed aluminum instead of some tiny steel? You need mass, you need a large body to distribute the weight of the slab. Some half assed rollerskate BS isn't going to cut it. A lot of people wanted to help you, but you wouldn't listen, and now you've just about worn out your welcome. These guys don't have time for this crap.

I'm sure you have invested many dollars, and even more time into your products. Spens a little more time and take one to a shop that installs granite and let them use it for a ferw weeks. And then take their ideas, and implement them. And then you will have a successful granite install cart to sell and make money with .

The above is a good idea.
But after you do what I have mentioned....................you will then be to where omni is all ready.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
this is something that works with glass and rated at 400 lbs, was told to think about moving glass and that's why I gave it like that with one wheel and a clamp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xu2UWaJyaQ
Was thinking it might be a quick add on off the back of a truck to ease the carry but as previously indicated you guys just carry those pieces up to 400lbs. Im all done carrying those myself. But suggest protecting corners as they do..

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
The idea is nice, but no way are you moving a 3cm piece of granite of the same size as the glass that easy. We have an older channel cart but with two wheels...and that's even a little tricky.
The manual suction cup will come loose because stone is porus.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
If island is under 65" we use Omni Pro cart. (pro cart 15" plus 65" = door height). We load the Island into Pro Cart at the shop, roll into cub van and undo clamps and then lean to "A"frame. Never taking Island out of cart. If island is under 74" we could use Two Omni Pro Dollys. ( pro dolly 6+/- plus 74" = door height) If island is above 74" (not likely but happens & really sucks) we use this patented technology called carpet remnants. We place Island on carpet strips then push to Install area. Lift one side at a time onto 2x4 and roll to cabinet.
I tried to patent two pieces of remnant carpet. Hoping I'd be spending the rest of my life on white sand....Idea denied.
Two or three stairs are conquered using unbolted ramp from cub van. More than three stairs = more people.
I dream of two Honda Robots moving large Islands around in the near future, But Honda and my bosses do not see ROI.
Still waiting on patent for color and logo on carpet rems......"White sand sure make a tan look nice" Sammy Haggar.

thanks for pointing out some of those steps. I didn't see any Video on the OMNI site showing the cart used in that fashion. I suppose this is the common practice then?

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
Go to omnicubed.com and near the bottom under the heading COMMUNITY is a link to their vimeo page.
Watch the Pro-Cart AT2 video. The slab in the video I would guess to be 48" x 100" or about 720 lbs.
Notice that the cart can adjust for stairs and folds flat for transport in the Van.
Also two Aqua-Jaw Carry Vise are used.
I think Omni has covered the cart business. You should try Miter Clamps for under $20.
I think your skills could be used in this area of the Stone Industry. Never Give up.

Oltvise- I tried uploading those pics I told you about but its not working.
Anybody know how to get a jpeg to upload to the site? I'm within the size limits. Pics were taken with an Ipad and resized with an app.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
As chance would have it, it was a lucky day ciphering countertop layouts and deliveries at a big box store. The stone in front(or whatever it is) and on the left side was also in one piece where the stove top is located. Two fellow stone movers tilted and tried lifting that long sheet. It flexed, then broke in two places as they were trying to get it onto a cart. It had strengtheners with rod and some type of substrate mesh. NO matter, just a little one way and BAM! NOW in a confined space, in public, and nowhere to go, they are stuck. As soon as the piece hit the cart each man had to hold it from colliding with the cabinets and\or going into main isle. It happened in a second and in a second I ME your friendly pool table man jumped in and held the middle piece so they could break the other two free without wasting time and having potentially more risks.
So my questions is this? is there a list of materials that are ranked in degree of flex\strength.
I retract my wager with Dan if he would like to post

If they would have used these (or some variant of) it probably wouldn't have broken.
List of fragile material....they are all fragile if you don't handle them correctly. An actual list of the "most" fragile....no such list as it would be too long and the names can change from supplier to supplier.Guy Robertson, SFA

the rodding and the mesh are not strengtheners. They are designed to keep loose pieces from falling away and hurting people.
The sink savers that Guy posted would eliminate this issue.

John, you don't need a list... Murphy's law makes it easy... if a stone looks expensive, it will break.
And, the more expensive it is, the easier it will break.

P.S. The really expensive stuff is pre-broken.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
Hi Larry,
that's good advice and do like those lam clamps.......
OTLVISE does NOT have multiple clamps along a continuous length beyond the 4 ft slate shoe. Bracing is a major issue and have looked at suction cup devices but after reading so many problems with suction cups causing marks Im thinking they may not be the best answer once the product is finished and being delivered? You guys are the experts and appreciate positive\negative comments in this regard. Various bracing methods?
So today I'm working on a NEW METHOD of sheet stabilization. Essentially framing the product at the critical stress points which would obviously vary. I'm curious if there is software available that highlights stress points once the layout has been input? That being said my mock up sample will be only for demo\concept.
