Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
Suppose you're right I wasn't considering this a Global Alliance. Therefor we have one entry at 880 and he is now King of the Hill in the weight consideration. But Im sure delivery Issues will carry weight in the Directors Minds as well as shape and fragility. An Olympics as Ive seen mentioned but with ONLY SAFETY as the greatest factor I'm hoping. Gladly PAYPAL a Director the $100 to Award as they see fit at this time if they agree to be the judges. Perhaps the Directors can establish a point system? and rate as they go

Why do you need a director to be the judge? It's your money you are donating, you decide whose charity is worthy.

Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
Its good contest practice to not allow the players to be their own judge. So how about a poll at the end?
Base it on factors with 5 points each for one.
Fragility risk
Terrain travel
weight
size
Ease of install to prevent injuries and property damage
Number of people required
something along those lines maybe

Mate Really!!!
You show a video of a 94 year old moving a rem up some stairs.
For starters let the old boy relax and have a few beers!
Then Try and move a real piece of stone!!!!!
I can't show you photos of getting them in AS IM NOT that stupid to be there when it happening. I have been there done that and know what the end product is.
My guys move on a weekly if not daily basis islands that are (Metric) 3200mm x 1100mm most are mitred to 50+mm with under packing/substraight glued.
I really want A anwser for my guys so keep thinking mate.
For the record the biggest Island Ive ever done was (metric) 3250mm x 1850mm x 30mm thick black Granite. Its in a cafe
So basically MATE design your gadget to move 2 full slabs of Granite glued together and your onto a winner.

Its a tough crowd, keep innovating, I'm guessing not many 94 year old dudes can carry more than a six pack up the stairs but I may be wrong.

Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
No winners may be more a function of others not wanting to do R & D work for certain "personality" types. Your condesending attitude and inability to communicate clearly got tiresome, rather fast.
Perhaps an ill conceived and executed shallow attempt to gain real knowledge from those that you believed never actually possessed said knowledge. I always got the feeling that you thought you knew more about our issues than we did. Always responding with doubt, instead of a quest for a better understanding. Showing crude machines that worked on smaller items that are normally hand carried (and most likely, always will be) and solving Don Quixote type problems turns real get-it-done types ambivalent quickly.

Shallow? offered $100 and didn't get anything. Figured there would have been one pic per week from a forum who reported it would have been 100 times that. Yeap, you can call me shallow...Dan R. wrote:No winners may be more a function of others not wanting to do R & D work for certain "personality" types. You told me (& others) about such success, but no one showed me.
As far as a shallow attempt, the results speak the loudest, IMO.
My cart is better\stronger\safer and its already been proven in the field Dan, sorry no one told you..
This is the arrogance that Dan referred to.
If it truly is "better/stronger/safer", then either....
1) You are lying
or
2) You are a terrible marketer/businessman
Because if that was true, then we (fabricators) would invest in your product.
Not to tell you how to run your business, but you may want to find a fabricator (on this site), that you like and feel comfortable with and send him/her a FREE unit so that someone in our industry can tell us if it really is better/stronger/safer.
As far as the $100 challenge....I've been on plenty of HUGE installs as a "helper" since this you had this offer. Problem is that a $100 donation is nothing in comparison to the $4000 top that we are installing. So my attention is to getting the product in the door as opposed to doing R&D work for you. Camera stays in my truck until top is installed.

Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
I can't speak for anyone else, but I think Dan is on to something.
I don't want to try to help you anymore with trying to get the word out about something I don't believe in.
It seems like this is a crudely concealed way to get people to talk and think about your tool.
I haven't seen anything in any of the post that make me feel like you will listen to constructive criticism.
That being said; I am going to try 1 last time to tell you what I think. It may hurt, but please understand that this is not and attempt to degrade you as a person, or be a personal attack on you in anyway. I am not saying you have an ugly child, I am saying you (I'm my opinion) have a product that does not interest me. No amount of tweaks can change that for me.
Keep in mind as you read this that I am spending my time at trying to actually help you. I am not doing this to enhance my own wallet or for the awed hush of my peers reveling in my brilliance (I'm not saying that they shouldn't, but that's for another topic). But no, seriously, listen to what I am really trying to communicate, speaking for myself & only myself; I don't see the benefit of your cart. If I did I would buy it. I don't want to see you beating a dead horse, you obviously are very smart, and this can be very frustrating when you are surrounded by those of us who aren't or don't seem to get the concept, but you may need to totally rethink this product and come up with something revolutionary that is better/different than anything else on the market.
If you decide to do this, I will give you 2 tips that from my days in market research, I think will benefit you the most.
1) don't expect your customer to know what product we need. The tv remote was met with overwhelming criticism because nobody considered it a need. That's what the youngest kid was for. Until you fill a need, we might not know it even existed.
2) make sure your test market or field researchers are the type to freely disagree with you and that you can listen to them.
Again, this very verbose posting is not intended to hurt your feelings, it is just my opinion. It is offered as an attempt to communicate what I, as a potential client really feels, and my be worth exactly what you paid for it.
I had not had a problem spending thousands of dollars on Omni-Cubed products that have brought me returns on my investment beyond measure as well as made us look more professional to our clients & making the process safer. I would not have a problem investing in your products either if I thought I would see a benefit.
Please, please, ask yourself honestly why this is, what are they doing (or similar tool smiths) that you are not?

Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
This has been the best advice from your forum to me thus far.... Thank you
You cant expect too much from a pool table guy...
America was built on competition, I powder coat red, white and blue my product, My son is a Marine fighting for US, pool players commonly post up Money on just about anything..... you guys really don't know anything about me... But after I saw your forum I duplicated its concept in My world.
I think sharing is a good idea and have done my best to show but until I demonstrate the big piece all is for nothing.
My Promise is to do my best to that end. One fellow was right, its not an easy crowd.
Its one step ahead, 3 steps behind...I think I should turnaround......

Re: OTLVISE Challenge- who moves the biggest stones
Ship me your cart and i will test it out for a month and give you feedback.
I currently use Omni carts with very little complaints. So you would be judged against the best in the industry IMO.
We only do about 2 kitchens a week. So it would take a month or so to hit most of the normal "situations' we run in to.
Let me know if you're interested Uniquegranite20@gmail.com
