Does anybody oscillate your tools? We have a Northwood Fabcenter, and I found out on there website that they do not recommend that you do it. I am more curious if it actually have had success and longer life out of your tooling.

Re: oscillating tool
We oscillate flat edges, A, T, Z. +/-1mm. We have been doing 2 passes to overlap -- you can get oscillating lines too.
It is a bit of a science, we run Park equipment and they have a program that handles this for us.
Before, we paused after the metals and quick ran a 400 grit polisher on the edges. It worked but, it was a pain.

Re: oscillating tool
We have a set of 8cm z's we oscillate because we use it for several different z profiles.
We also oscillate our 40mm z wheel we run for sizing after laser.

Re: oscillating tool
I have had very good luck using ADI's MFP5 oscillating to reduce linear lines. You need to keep your tools dressed and maintained for best results. You want therm to take off as little as possible.

Great post about maintaining tools. It's definitely key.Jqualey4130 wrote:I have had very good luck using ADI's MFP5 oscillating to reduce linear lines. You need to keep your tools dressed and maintained for best results. You want therm to take off as little as possible.
