Email Hacked! Please read!

If you received an email from me asking you to sign a document, please DO NOT OPEN!! If you attempted to open it, you probably were asked to sign in to your email account. When you did that, whoever is behind this got your email password and you need to change it.

I was on vacation for 12 days with limited cell or internet service. Luckily, my bookkeeper was able to get a text through to me asking if I really wanted her to wire money to Tokyo! I called her immediately and she said that she had received several emails from me asking her to wire the money (96,000 dollars!) to Tokyo. To the point where they were exchanging emails and it almost seemed legit. But as a fail safe, she sent me a text just to make sure. Luckily, it was one of the few times I was available and able to receive a text message.

Since then, I have received several emails asking if I sent the person a document to sign. I apologize if you received an email from me and you opened it. But if you did, change your email password and check with some of your contacts.

I am trying to figure out how to send an email to everyone on my contact list, but don't know how. I have received emails from several stone industry people and I'm trying to get the word out.

I've heard of this happening in real estate. A realtor assistant received an email stating they need to wire funds to secure a property their client was interested in and needed to do so ASAP. Come to find out 60-80K was wired and it was all a scam.

Sold a large saw to a customer in the mid west. Their email was hacked just when the transaction was closing. The hacker tried to have the wire transfer for the deposit diverted to his account. Fortunately my customer picked it up just in time. They could have lost mucho dinero. Be really careful these days about opening emails and so forth. I also got an email saying that my CPA had his wallet stolen while on vacation and could I help him out. Too many bad guys out there.
