CAD CAM PDF DXF DWG LT ALLENCAD help for you.
Hey there guys and gals,
I'd still like to offer free help or advice, and or full time cad/cam help remotely. I have a full cad and cam programming staff that is ready, willing, and able to get you through what is hindering your progress. This is an offer for a short term solution to get those machines filling up your troughs with slurry... and at the end of the day, we will be here if you need us for more than advice or a trial run.
Kind Regards,
Chris Borland

Just curious, what exactly is it that you're offering? Do people go do templates, then send you their files to be finished/prepared?
Hopefully I can help. Unless I'm here asking for help. Then hopefully YOU can help, lol.

Re: CAD CAM PDF DXF DWG LT ALLENCAD help for you.
Well yes.
Technically if you have a saw/jet or cnc and sent us a hand sketch on a napkin through text we could have all files prepped and loaded for the operator to press go. Also, including, customer pdfs for sign-off's and shop worksheets for the guys. I am also confident of any niche technical application in between.
But first and foremost we are here to assist the SFA. Send us your weary and we will give them rest.

Okay, then I have a professional to professional question for you.
From the time you get a drawing to the time it's prepared for a sawjet or cnc, about how long does it take you?
For this question, lets make it two parts.
Scenario 1 - a couple vanities w/backsplash & 2 cutouts
Scenario 2 - a very large C shaped kitchen layout, part of it is a peninsula off at an angle, inside diagonal corners, and every outside corner is 4" clipped. 1 sink cutout, 1 built-in-range cutout, 4 holes for faucet, no backsplash & the customer is not putting tile on the wall (wall scribe is important).
Please don't embellish

Ok after reviewing this question with my guys here is what we decided,
1. 10 mins
2. 25 to 45 mins depending on the details.
What are your thoughts?

Re: CAD CAM PDF DXF DWG LT ALLENCAD help for you.
I could see 10 min for the simple vanities. However, 25 to 45 for a more complex drawing? What is it that people usually send you? A laser scan dxf? Hand drawn dimensions? In any case, are you usually to make up customer drawings (ones w/clear dimensions in case the customer wants to double check the square footage themselves, general seam locations, typical radii, job details, etc)? Or do you usually only make the dxf that's to go to a sawjet/cnc? If it's just the dxf for a sawjet/cnc, then I average about 42 min.
Hopefully I can help. Unless I'm here asking for help. Then hopefully YOU can help, lol.

Re: CAD CAM PDF DXF DWG LT ALLENCAD help for you.
Ill be completely honest, i passed your question on to my guys. We are a small firm of cad cam programmers, almost exclusively countertop programs. And i asked my partner that manages the guys in the office not to embellish. He mentioned that there may be some details unaccounted for and a learning curve if we attempted these scenarios for the first time with a shop new to us.
In reply though,
25 to 45 mins will be my final answer from hand drawing to fusion, titan, and pdf for customer approval. Maybe we can have a challenge somehow one day for fun.
Kind regards,
Chris.

Re: CAD CAM PDF DXF DWG LT ALLENCAD help for you.
Thanks for the reply. I guess there probably are a lot more steps that I take. For example, I often take a dxf from alphacam into a program called PerfectMatch that allows me to demonstrate to a customer what their exact countertop will look like, with seam locations, cutouts, radii, etc. So I suppose that's not likely something your firm handles, as you'd need access to your client's slab database in order to do that for them. Not that it adds a lot of time, but maybe a good 10 minutes overall depending on how close to 100% slab usage I get (closer to 100%, the tighter the harder it is to fit the pieces on the slab itself).crisco wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:58 pmIll be completely honest, i passed your question on to my guys. You got it my friend. If you want to try us out for no cost or if you get stumped on an error handle, or even just too busy in the cad/cam/shop sheet/customer pdf area thats why we are here. Usually we will work with a company while a programmer is on vacation or if the company is in temporary need until they hire a full timer.
