Well I'm gonna ask the question that I'm sure all of us would like to know how much cheaper was this company over the others you had quote it? That could have been your first warning as to what kind of work they do.

Good question, but actually, this company charged about 10% more. I thought I was doing a good thing by giving the work to a local business. The other company I was going to use was out of NC.EID GRANITE wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 1:53 pmWell I'm gonna ask the question that I'm sure all of us would like to know how much cheaper was this company over the others you had quote it? That's truly an unimportant question in most instances, and it always gets asked anytime a homeowner comes to these boards. Price DOES NOT equal quality, that's what referrals and portfolios are for. Price really just indicates a sales person ability to sell.

Re: What are considered acceptable gaps in a granite job?
Very very true. Example: where I work, they buy all slabs in bulk & when they don't, they spring for deals. They get great deals because they buy bulk & pay up front for everything. So our supplier gives us materials at, in my opinion, the lowest prices I've ever seen (cost), in relation to the material color. So, we're able to undercut a lot of our competition, yet provide exotic colors, follow through on customer service, fast turn around time, & quality installations. But by the logic that "if it costs less, then it's trash?" Well, that would make us out to be a garbage operation.wkluender wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2017 10:13 amThat's truly an unimportant question in most instances, and it always gets asked anytime a homeowner comes to these boards.
