I run the Weha White Lion. Love it. Almost chip free edge and no step cutting.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
I have several options for you. 2 options are for mitres. What's the hp of your saw and are you cutting in single pass? What size blade can you take. You'll need a more rigid core if you are mitring.
Let me know the above and you can pm me as well if you'd like.

Do they make one without a silent core? Would that make a difference?

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
We have seen the White Lion perform well in our market. We have spent 11 months looking in Europe, Brazil and Korea for a very good blade for Quartzite. We have been Importing directly the SORMA Quartzite blade from Italy now for 4 months.
We got good reports from customers running a GMM with the Sorma and then we sent it to a friend of ours who has a robo-saw. H
e really liked it and re-ordered the Sorma.
We believe these 2 blades are the next generation of the "original " designs from the engineers in Italy. If you think back their response to Quartzite was to put 2 segments on one landing and also a semi-soft bond. The White Lion has a U shape segment. If you look closely at the Sorma Quartzite, they have a pattern diamond design at the 2 ends of the segment and no diamonds in the middle of the segment. Therefore creating the 2 segment design while allowing for 1 segment ,( in length), attached safely to the core.
Mr Lauzon's point is well taken we still believe strongly in Silent and then Non-Silent for Mitering. That is why we bring in both designs in from Sorma and the DIATEX Neolith, Dekton and Lapitec blades we are bringing in both designs. The recent post from Vadim on his Sasso was a silent Diatex.
Mr Lauzon we have 1 - 16 inch Non - Silent we would like to send you to test. Would that be OK with you? If so let us know how to arrange that.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
I would like to see a review on this blade as I've tried just about everything out there and there is still no real answer for mitering hard quartzite. The best blade I've found for this it the Nano solid core blade from Terminator. I still have to dress the blade fairly often.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
We have used the terminator qzite and white lion. We have never glazed either. But we have never been able to cut one pass 3cm Taj with either. (At an acceptable feed rate). We cut a lot of quartzite. Taking 3 passes at high speed has been the fastest way to process quartzite without worrying about glazing. We miter with no problem step cutting. I do have an italdiamant blade that's claiming to be the one pass answer but we haven't tried it yet and remain skeptical.

Yea the non-silent definitely helps with the mitre cuts. Mark we have a few different options. Let us know and we'll hook you up!Mark Lauzon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 8:27 pmDo they make one without a silent core? Would that make a difference?

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
We use the 18" Zenesis 3 and step cut on a Sasso K600. 1/2" at a time at full speed, never an issue. We have never attempted miter cuts in quartzite with it, but regular cuts in 3 CM are not an issue.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
the shops i go to dont like step cutting.. so i had to desighn the blades for full cutting... Im a huge Zenesis fan and i sell zenesis .. Nothing but good to say about Zenesis.. but at times there are other blades that can work better in situations.. this is why i did the Tiburon line.. it works hand and hand with Zenesis.. My one customer Uses the large Sasso with the 65mm bore... Currently hes just running this yellow Tiburon blade for everything.... He uses zenesis at times and other Tiburon blades i sell, but know he loves the uses. this shop literally uses every blade i have ever desighned plus every Zenesis blade... and currently there only using This blade and My Tiburon Layered diamond. everything is 3cm in New Jersey . so if it works on 3cm than 2cm is easy... The shop that uses this Yellow tiburon is also running TWo saw jest and another saw.. so 4 saws... Plus There Dekton Certified.. so with my blades they do it all.. we fine tuned the formuals for differnt saws and cutting styles.. Heres my Number One recomanditon... For Now keep your zenesis blade,, but have a Tiburon Yellow blade.. use this blade for Miters and other cutts were materials are just to hard to cut.. more than likely though when they guys use this blade they want to just keep it to cut everything but its only 10mm so save it for the important occasions.. but this current shop has resolved just to use it on everything cause how smooth it cuts and how diverse it is.. But for you i recommend stay with the Zenesis and incorporate just The Yellow.. even if you choose to still step cut.. The yellow tiburon cuts way better on miters than zenesis as well as Taj mahal Dekton and hard quartzites..

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
First rule, get a miter specific quartzite (or Dekton) blade and use your miter blade only for mitering. Second, get a blade specific to mitering (usually solid core). This should be #1, match your saw RPM and desired feed rate to the blade. We sell many with great results but they need to be paired to your expectations (the reason why we carry multiples).

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
Hey Alex, the blade is good. I've been very happy with it. We have cut with out steps but I don't see a reason to skip them these days. The material is too expensive for me to justify skipping the steps. I haven't had the white lion to compare it to but we've done several miter quartzite jobs with the yellow blade and while it's not the fastest, we've had great results. Razor sharp miters. Cut you kinda miters. What I really like about the yellow blade is it's literally cut everything I've throwing at it. Quartz, granite, marble, quartzite and even dekton. On the sasso I am able to adjust the RPM's and feed rates and get great cuts.Alex DiPietro wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 8:08 pmThat's a picture of Andrew's shop. I've been telling Brent to get on here for a while now and I see he's now finally listened. Try to take it easy on him lol, don't knock his knowledge based on his ability to spell or spit out coherent sentences lol, he gets a little excited. He's 100% a fan of what he does, always trying to get the best product to me and willing to listen when I have issues or concerns. He's stood by me through many many "energized" accusations of his blades being junk because of bowed cuts on our new sawjet.....only to get redeemed finding out our new Northwood SJ can only cut at 40-50 inches a minute before the C axis can't hold the line (whole 'nother story). Even when I was blaming it all on him, he was in here, every week bringing me a new blade to test. Before we found out it was the saw, he took all the half life blades we had, shipped them out and had them tested and re-dressed and sent back to me for nothing. That's the way he is.
I used to buy most of my consumables off of his father who came around in a van forever, unfortunately he passed and for a few years I had moved on to some sponsors. Then one day about 2 years ago or so he & his brother came here saying they wanted our business back and willing to work to get it. He helped us find the best pads for the money (my guys opinions) and it wasn't a small task. He must have came in here every week with a new set, some times 2 or 3 sets for my guys to try. They'd give him feed back and few weeks later he was in with the new formula fresh off the boat. He was the same way with the blades. I know he's using us to find the best products so he can sell them but I don't mind, it's been very beneficial for us and he's a great guy to have in our corner.
This community can be ROUGH if you come in here thinking you know everything, a straight up a horrible experience, even if you DO know everything. Brent's stuff might not be what you like or you like they people you deal with and that's all good. But I do know that he's a good guy and is always looking to improve. That's my 2 cent's. I didn't want to high jack this thread but I wanted to chime in since I see I've been brought up. Now, back to installing our new air compressor system! Yippie! Hopefully no more low air faults coming our way very soon!

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
We have been using the White Lion for years on our Yukon. We have tried a bunch of other blades in between, but the shop as always ended up wanting the White Lion back. We certainly haven't tried everything out there. We miter and laminate everything, 2cm and while we always wish everything was smoother, it's not bad at all.
I have known Mark Zevotek since I was a little kid, when he was selling stuff to my dad back in the day. He has always known his tooling, Lauzon, I'd take him up on his offer.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
A. blades around 10mm and Under will usually out perform in better cutting on Miters than the blades over 10mm.
Example.. 25mm Zennesis wont cut a miter as good as that zennesis worn down to about 5mm.. plus more chances of segment loss the higher the segment cause more pressure at the the tip the further the distance away from center. so cutting miters and cutting harder material really can get IFFY on Hi segment heights do to what i call Peripheral segment pressure/torque... i made that expression up.. its the only phrase i know to describe it.. im sure someone out there knows the real name. feel free to let us know..
B. ( quartzite ) i see guys using granite and marble blades cutting quartzite all day long.. Quartzite has a broad range of soft to hard scale. I want this test list to be done on the Hardest materials.. I already see materials out there now that blades wont even cut.. there using Water jet to cut them... (another topic another day)

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
Terminator blades here. No one blade for all stones. Sorry. To many variables. I have seen the, all run at different shops around the world. Different size saws and motors. You have to find the right blade for the material based on the machines you have. I run 9 different blades in my shop through the the week. I just wish there was a quick connect for saw blades lol

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
I agree a lot to this..This is why i color code my blades cause by one color code system im able to fine tune my customers.. cause i sell to many shops with a Broad range of saws n motor operators and styles... all my blades have a tad tweak in the formulas so once they start with one blade i can dial them in on there style once they give me more feedback.. takes the guess work out of what blade is the best... My entire Tiburon line is a color code system... You figured this out with your shop with the terminator blades... you got a system of all those blades and how the perform accordingly to the saws and materials... My color code system is taking out the guess work so a customer doesnt have to buy a ton of blades from every on and keep guessing... most shops i never had to go over 3 colors and thats shops with 5 or more saws.. Layered diamond series they will go with either Black or white Tiburon in 25mm usually white is for lowered horse power and Hi horse power... Black layered is more for the Larger horsepower.. than Tiburon Yellow or Purple is for the miter cutting/Dekton and Taj mahal. i find these 4 blades covers about 90 percent of my customers.. some only use One... some Two at the most 3 different blades... So you using 9 is the exact market i was trying to help.. You validate why im putting in the research and development im doing.. Imagine having a shop with a lot of saws and workers and you can limit the training to your employees saying.. Hey guys heres the color color these three colors do these things on all these saws.. a lot easier than explaining how to run 9 blades.. This is exactly why im out there every day to try to help a shop like yours..imagine how many more vacations you could go on if you could say .. Hey boys these are the three blades no more 9 blades... Im going fishing today.. Im really on this Quest.. color coding...i think its the wave of the future.. so far in my research and developing its going great.. and i think if i perfect this color code system it will make a lot of shops life easier.. this is why my blades dont look fancy.. its about the coloring.. if you learn my colors you will learn how each blade works..dustinbraudway wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2017 9:18 amTerminator blades here. Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
Your comment B. regarding quartzites is incorrect and further propagating inaccurate information about quartzites.
Quartzite Need Not be a Confusing Stone
Raising the bar throughout the industry requires that we all constantly improve our understanding of the materials and the machines and tooling we use to process them.
True quartzites are all very hard, as the primary mineral throughout quartzite is.....quartz. Materials that are often referred to as "soft quartzites" are NOT true quartzite, but usually marble or granite with some veining or pockets of quartz in them. These materials can present unique problems to fabricators since there are harder and softer areas across the slab. Here's a technical bulletin on quartzite that you can share with your customers to help them better understand what is (and what is not) a true quartzite.BrentToolMan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 2:14 pmB. These materials can present unique problems to fabricators since there are harder and softer areas across the slab. Here's a technical bulletin on quartzite that you can share with your customers to help them better understand what is (and what is not) a true quartzite.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
I've tried the Cyclone S Quartzite blade and didn't notice any real difference over a regular granite blade. I found the biggest difference comes from lowering the depth of the blade when cutting quartzite so that the blade passes about 1/4" into the concrete deck. It allows the blade to "clean" and speeds up the cuts a little..eats up the deck though.

Re: Saw blades for Quartzite
Video shows Blade cutting 3cm Taj Mahal . Gmm Saw. Rpms were at 1720 rpms. Operator is unable to adjust the rpms of this saw. If we could adjust the rpms and if he had a concrete style table. this blade would cut much faster.. regardless it still cut Chip free and smooth
