Been Running my Helios Cut 500 For almost 6 months now with "Fantastic Results!" While the transition to digital Is at times a bit challenging , with the crazy shapes of kitchen tops now a days! The Machine Is Working Beautifully And It also has easy to use modes for Manual Cutting but with digital accuracy and 5 axis movements on the fly. ( For the old School Sawyer )So for those shops that may be afraid to go digital, FYI this has been a great addition and smooth transition!

I don't understand why this is an option... You can put the tool in saw spindle. I interpret this negatively, either the saw spindle can't handle the continuous duty, or the controls aren't accurate enough to run tools with the tilting head at 90*? Just curious the reasoning. If there was a tool changer and suction cup table, I would see the point. But this seems to be a saw with another motor slapped onto it.

Happy new year to you and all SFA friends!

Sorry not coming back to you earlier, I was out of office on Christmas Holidays.

Let me try to explain the reason why we suggest the other motor for routing processes.
The most part of the bridge saws mount motors with maximum 4000 RPM like Helios Cut 500, which give the best features for all the cutting processes.
Put the tool on the spindle would be inappropriate for the routing jobs because these processes need very high RPM.

The cons using these motors for routing:
High RPM make these motors very noisy.
The tools in the saw spindle (even with the disk mounted) are extremely dangerous at those speeds.
The tool performance is lacking.

The pros of the second motor on the Helios Cut 500 bridge saw:
It is an electro-spindle from 0-12000 RPM, the best solution for combined cut and routing.
Two motors are better than one because they are more performing during the combined processes, in fact, the disk stops when routing jobs are required (example: finishing of the cutout joints), thus speeding production times, then improving the business curve and the safety at work.

Anyway, we have other solutions like you have mentioned above, mostly conceived as fab center.
