Hey All,
I know plenty has been written on here about the Green Bloom or Blossom. One thing I have not been able to find is a list of stones that are susceptible to this issue. CC is trying to put together such a list for reference. It could be a good reference for the members as well. I have a short list started. See below. Please chime in and add any stone types that you know will turn green when exposed to certain chemicals such as CA accelerators. Thank you!
Known Stone Types Susceptible to “Green Bloom”:
Neteuno Bordeaux
Delicatus
Typhoon Bordeaux
Kashmire white
Juperana Columbo
Santa Cecilia
Crema bordeaux
Sienna Bordeaux
Bianco Antico
Juperana Golden Eagle
Vyara gold
Dallas White
Colonial Cream

Re: Green Bloom Stone List
I recently had my first bloom. It was on colonial cream. I still need to address it so I’m on here looking for possible solutions. Thought I’d share since col. cream isn’t on the list.

Re: Green Bloom Stone List
We assume all in the Bordeaux or Delicatus family will turn green. Anything with large quartzie features. Never had a problem with a small-grain granite..Although I might be careful with white ornamental.
We've had good luck with the Bellinzoni poultice paste to pull it out, but it takes a couple of treatments.

Use Tenax TeBlossom, it might need a few applications but it works well.RockStarMT wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 12:10 amI recently had my first bloom. It was on colonial cream. That tip was posted somewhere in here.
It worked better than anything else we have ever tried.

Re: Green Bloom Stone List
the green bloom can occur on any stone. Its the accelerator that makes the difference.
Also you don't have to use accelerator to make it cure, it just takes longer

Re: Green Bloom Stone List
Thanks for all the replys. I’ll have to test some oven cleaner on a rem. Of course the job that got the bloom was far away. But they are more than willing to try to take care of it themselves as long as there’s no risk in damaging the top. So you just spray it on and cover with plastic wrap?
