It is time to replace one of our Slab Lifting Clamps for loading and unloading slabs. Is there anything new on the market or any "go to" unit you would recommend?

Re: Slab lifting clamp
We use Abaco clamps. Been using them for years, and replacement parts are easy to get.ronald hannah wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 8:32 amIt is time to replace one of our Slab Lifting Clamps for loading and unloading slabs. Is there anything new on the market or any "go to" unit you would recommend?

Re: Slab lifting clamp
We just got a new clamp, that raises and lowers to lock/unlock (like a ball point pen. Very convenience, with no levers or sticks to operate.
Ard Wolf brand.
We have used many brands and styles, this is by far the best.

Re: Slab lifting clamp
We've had a clamp for around 10yrs now. We've had to replace the bearings, pads, springs and even the slide. I've never had an issue finding parts for the Abaco. We had an Ardwolf,it was a good clamp also. I believe there is a relationship with those 2 companies if I'm not mistaken. I just couldn't find parts for the Ardwolf, so we bought a little larger Abaco.

Re: Slab lifting clamp
On that note, if you are replacing parts on your lift, or just a heads up to everyone. The part that slides up will wear out and you need to inspect it from time to time. Teach your operators maintence and have them check any moving parts for wear like the sliding or rotating mechanics of the clamp, swivel or any type of boom hook used. We've went through several of these through the years.bobslusser wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:15 pmWe've had a clamp for around 10yrs now. Re: Slab lifting clamp
Using the same clamp here, in a distribution warehouse. Works great, gets my guys out of way quickly before raising the slab and also keeps them from having to reach a long handle into a pole rack to trigger the old style clamps. Safe!

Re: Slab lifting clamp
Aardwolf has a stocking warehouse in California now. If you need parts or a lifter, you can order through our distribution network. We will have it drop shipped right away. Thank you.bobslusser wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:15 pmWe've had a clamp for around 10yrs now. We've had to replace the bearings, pads, springs and even the slide. Re: Slab lifting clamp
These are awesome and i think safer when trying to get things like remnants in and out of pin racks.
