Hey Stonies,
I think this Quartzite is crap and I'm not surprised this is happening. Dark spots that look like water absorption around the vanity. Does anyone have a suggestion on why this is happening and a good solution to remove?
I figured I'd use some plastic wrap and poultice powder.
Photo is in the attachments.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Quartzite Staining FUN
I'd try heat first.

We had the same problem. So my guy in brazil is saying this:
The quartzite, not just this one but other like casablana quartzite, absorb a lot of water when your cutting and polishing. When you polish the the edge it's trapping the water inside. It will eventually evaporate, sometimes weeks. he suggested to heat it. but be carefully not to heat it to hot, it will crack.

You might suggest opening the cabinet door below and ideally have a fan blowing air inside the cabinet to help circulate the moisture that is finally making its way out. If you sealed the top and the sides, easiest place for water to escape is the unsealed underside presuming its not thick coated in epoxy with mesh.
Good luck.
