That road sign clearly says that bridges ice before roads...looks like someone wasn't paying attention.

I didn't even notice that Joe.

What's funny is that picture is of I285. that's the perimeter interstate around Atlanta. Our major arteries are shut down. I can get to work, but what are we going to do when we get there? We can't send any trucks out.

My mother bought some disc sleds for the kids when she was in NC a few months ago. They got to use them at Christmas time, and again yesterday. I located a great sledding spot at the nearest park (about a mile away from the house). Everyone in the F-150 4x4 and we go about 5-10 MPH to get there. Then pristine hills - perfect if you've got sleds or inflatable tubes!

I actually drove over to the shop yesterday afternoon. It was kind of eerie. Only a few 4x4 vehicles and some folks out playing on their quads. More people out and walking around - looked like some feel-good movie scenery from the 1950s. The roads were slick in spots, but were barely drivable. The major highways are the problem, as Miles posted. Interstate 75 is CLOSED on the south side of town. Interstate 20 is closed in a couple spots. Publix (grocery store), Wal-Mart, QuikTrip, and Waffle House were all open yesterday. I was the neighborhood "fetching boy", since my truck was the only vehicle that could make it out safely.

Then last night, Tyler (my 3 YO) and me both were sick all night........hopefully just a 24hr bug. Looking forward to feeling better and getting out of the house again!

It is kind of nice when Mother Nature lets us all know who is really in charge once in a while.

Yeah Joe,

I just got to spend some quality father/daughter time shoveling the ice and snow off my driveway. The problem I have is I had to use a dust pan and broom. The dust pan shovels well enough, but it's hard on your back!

We just aren't equipped for this kind of weather down here!

That storm you guys sent up the coast to us has dumped close to 26" already and its not done yet. I woke up this morning to 16" already down. My poor little Kabota tractor got a work out today. We seldom get more than 6" at a time. Nearly 6 hours to get my 500 ft. driveway passable. Thank god I have a bucket on the front the tractor doesn't have the power to use the back blade. Scoop and dump, scoop and dump. UUUuuggg.

Last year Les and I decided to sled down a hill on our property.. we used a small plastic disc type. My dog however did NOT like the idea at all..

Don't ask about the fuel cans.. no real story.. Les didnt put them away after fueling the tractor..

Whats up with these guys? 6 to 8" is a light dusting or a bit of a sprinkle.

I dont see any Plug poles to plug in the car battery until morning?

I'm laughing too. I had posted earlier in December about our storm... 4 feet, thats right 48" in some places. The major 402 highway closed for a week, 300 people stranded on the highway, getting airlifted out. Then two weeks later, 3 days of rain and i had grass again. Now I have 12" on my lawn again.

Damn Canada.

but it is funny...I heard today Florida is the ONLY US state without snow now.
