Well the air raid sirens went off but nothing else. Looks like Todds area was not so lucky.

Todd is a firefighter based out of Shawnee just east of Oklahoma City. I'm sure he's been a bit busy.

Joplin is the one that takes your breath away. I've lived most of my life in 'Tornado Alley' and I've seen lots of tornadoes, but damage like that is beyond stark.

I studied meteorology in college, but forgot to minor in spittle management. So, I was never going to make it on TV in Tornado Alley. This time of year, a dark cloud on the horizon will cause the weather weasels to monopolize all local channels. If you turn the sound down, it looks like mimes on crack.

I talked to mom last night (Mustang, Ok) she said they were popping up everywhere. Lots of cells coming in and out. Looks like Todd got some good ones last night. He probably was really busy. I miss spring in Oklahoma. Awesome powerful storms that are beautiful. Just super distructive and harmful. Thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected families.

Got a response from an email from Todd's phone this morning about a joke, so he's definetly fine, but probably busy everywhere helping out this morning.

I just made a post and got bumped by my wife, how appropriate....

No we are all good, thanks guys. One was just a couple miles from us, and definitely had us on the run.

We are very fortunate to have some incredible chopper pilots who actually give us real reports and vidos of what is going on as opposed to what appears to be a tornadic producing indication on radar. I will attribute this to our minimal injuries in the last few recent years. Joplin and lots of other areas arent so fortunate and prayers go out to all those who have lost.

I've met the Luster's a few times. Todd mostly, Christie twice. I can tell you that Christie seems to be the type of woman that will make a tornado take the opposite path due to her awesomeness. She won't let it affect her. Todd is riding her coat tails in that regard.
