There are alot of really good things out there we have no idea about over here. I honestly do not know much about the company, but their saws look 100% first rate.

I'm familiar with Donatoni & Terzago's products and I have visited with them in Italy. I currently only rep the robotic line but I can also get you information on either of the companies products.

Donatoni is a prominent builder of saws in Italy with a good reputation. While GMM is the top seller in Italy having better than 50% of the market, I would guess Donatoni is in the top 4. To the best of my knowledge they have no sales or technical presence in North America.

We hired the guy that used to sell for them in Canada. There's a few up north. Don't think anything cnc though.

Since this is the number one link on American yahoo when searching "donatoni saws", I feel the need to help anyone who may come across this.

After visiting donatoni and getting a hard look at their saw, and speaking with Mauro and Marcelo, all I can say is that if you are looking for a cnc saw, they should be on your very short list. The software is really awesome, and if that is not good enough for you, you can also get easystone. The saw itself (i looked at the echo) is very well built for it's price class and all 5 axis are interpolated. It has top quality blade and stone probes, i imagine it is a very capable mitering saw from these options. The camera system is not just that, but a full on vein match like slabsmith etc ( I believe in real time as you move the dxf, can't remember). And you can set the camera to picture slabs with the table up, so you can leave it up, shoot all the slabs for a job, then layout and process. Not great for large inventory shops, but for medium to small guys with no room or need for a slabsmith like setup, it is very impressive. I started this thread as a feeler for a saw I found on the Internet that looked nice, I never anticipated being able to see their facility and saws run, but I am happy I did. I have since confirmed that it is a very, very nice product.

The only drawback is that there is no US tech, or sales rep, but tech means more. Having an omag, this may bother me less than most since to date a phone call and machine intelligence can get me through most anything. Still, it is the saws only glaring weak spot. We saw one running that was 8 years old, and apparently someone has a 5 year old one in Arizona and has spent no more than $2000 on parts in that time for whatever that is worth.

Anyway, from what I saw, I would think that this is a name that will have to eventually make it over here if they care to invest or push it a little.

I'm doing some research on cnc saws as well. The gmm cnc brio seems like a big bang for the buck at under $100 k delivered and installed. If price was no object I would be looking at the CMS Falcon but at that price might as well buy a sawjet.

Eric has a new Brio. I'm giving him some time with it before I call him for a review.

Yes, I am well aware of all the saws out there in all price ranges. The Donatoni is a VERY nice world class saw.

Taff knows I love him and his company rocks, so do their saws..... but Donatoni saws looked and worked very strong. I think if they come to the us market they will have to get some techs that live here.

For what they are, pretty well. They are 5 interpolated axis, slabsmith equivilant, and tools capable. Right where they should be from my experience. Problem is there are no apples to apples in CNC saws, so they are tough to grade. I was all but over this company because it was convenient to rule out a non US repped saw and was unexpectedly blown away by their build quality, software, features and feature quality, and the "kids" (i am old now) running and training the software were impressive to me in regards to doing what I asked no problem in the software.

It is not brio price range if that's what your after, but it is not a brio saw. It is gmm intra range without the vacuum.

The vacuum system is pretty radical and has a rotating axis that is sick. Chris v. Really likes it, I am not totally sold vacuum moving worth the cost for a shop my size, but their system makes sense and is smart. I just have to believe that this is a saw you will hear more and more about. It has way too many good things going for it not to.
