client wants an inlay island of three different colored engineered stone. we have a radial arm polisher, do you guys recommend polishing it on there to get a perfect look and feel? if so, what polishing pads are you using to where you won't burn the surface? we have no problem getting a perfect polish with marble or granite. we have not tried a man made product. anxious to find out what you think before we quote it.

Re: engineered stone resurfacing
If you are polishing the whole thing and no dark colors it will do ok.
polish like normal but add more water and order a clone it kit from defusco to create the texture. You don't need the diamond pads just the compounds and felt pads in the kit

Re: engineered stone resurfacing
Repolishing the entire piece is the best option. the surface will be smoother and shinier than the original. It will lose the snake skin look. If this agreeable with clients then it should be a good project. There are ES polishing pads or granite pads work well with a lot of water and light pressure. It is important to keep the surface cool as to not burn the resin in the ES.

Re: engineered stone resurfacing
Ask them if they want it more shiny than the factory finish. refinish the entire thing then complete it with MB20. Super shiny ES.
